MAJOR GENERAL JOHN McN R HENDERSON |
||
| John Henderson's association with Germany started in 1977 with a school exchange in Aschaffenburg, Bavaria, the “twin” of his hometown Perth in Scotland. As an officer, he has served in Germany in every rank from second lieutenant, and commanded at every level from platoon to brigade. |
||
| As well as Germany he has served in the UK including the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst as Adjutant, in the US, Belgium, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan. | ||
Henderson has been a Chartered Engineer since 1991, and a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers since 2004; he is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. He is a keen linguist - a German interpreter, a French linguist, passable in Serbian and Croatian, and conversational in several other languages. In his spare time, he plays golf, runs, enjoys Nordic Skiing, opera and painting bad watercolours; he is also a keen hunter and holds a German Jagdschein. He is a Freeman of the City of London, and Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Carmen, and a Vice-President of RedR UK, a charity undertaking logistics and engineering training for disaster relief. He is married to Shona, whom he met while she was serving as a Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps (QARANC) midwife captain in Hannover; she works in healthcare. |

Eddie Hefferman MBE |
||
Eddie was instrumental in the forming of the Herford Branch in Feb 1992, initially holding the position of Entertainments Officer. He went on to hold the positions of Poppy Appeal Organiser, Welfare Officer and Branch Chairman. He was the District Parade Marshall 1996-99 and the District Chairman 1999-2002. He is a qualified Welfare Case Worker, Parade Marshall, Standard Bearer Judge and Trustee, and is currently on the RBL Board of Trustees, Council Member of the Poppy Factory and British Membership Council for the World Veterans Federation at National Level. |

Stephan Reid |
||
Stephen is a member of the Rhiendahlen Branch. He was personally responsible for renovation of the premises, bar management and entertainment. He is an active member of the Branch Committee after joining the Royal British Legion in 1995. Appointed Chairman of the Rheindahlen Branch, Royal British Legion in November 2000 for 3 years and again in 2007 to date. |

Joan Hatton |
||
Joan joined the QARANC in 1958 and served at the then Catterick Military Hospital. She was a qualified State Enrolled Nurse and was training to become a State Registered Nurse when she left the Service. She
joined the Sauerland Branch of The Royal British Legion in 1997 at its inaugural meeting. Within the Branch she has held the offices of Poppy Appeal Officer, Chairman and been a case worker and Branch delegate.
She joined the Women’s Section at its inaugural meeting in 2000 and was elected to and has held the offices of Vice-Chairperson and Chairperson. Joan has been on the District Conference Committee since 2002. |

Robert Millar |
||
Robert Millar joined the Royal Artillery from 1976 -1985 and 1989 – 2002. Served on numerous operations including Op CORPORATE, Falklands Campaign 1982 and Op GRANBY, 1st Gulf War, 1991. He was awarded the Meritiorious Service Medal in 2001 for service to the community. Joined the British Legion in November 2002. Became Branch Vice-Chairman in October 2003, In October 2004, he took on the Post of Branch Secretary and continues to do this post today. Qualified as a case-worker in June 2005. He served on the District Conference Committee from January 2005 – January 2007 and took on the job as Conference Committee Secretary from September 2005. He was appointed as the District Secretary in January 2007. |

Ken Adams |
||
Served in the REME in Germany, Kenya & Aden. Worked 22 years in REME Wksp in Minden last 13 years as Workshop Foreman B Vehicles and A & G Dept. Member of RBL Minden Branch and carried out various duties such as Vice Chairman, Treasurer and at present Branch Secretary. Member of District Welfare advisary Committee, Case worker since 1997 and a Qualified Independent Examiner (Branch Accounts). Attended progressive case worker course in UK.

Terry Salmon |
||
Terry Joined the Legion as a founder member of the Herford Branch in February 1992 and was Branch Secretary 1993-2000. He took the post of District Vice Chairman 1995 and District Chairman 1996-1999 and has since served as the District Secretary. He is a Qualified Legion Instructor, Qualified Independent Examiner (Accounts), a Qualified Panel Member (Dicipline) and a Welfare Case Worker. |

Mary Jansen |
||
Mary Jansen joined the Fallingbostel-Heide Branch of the Legion in 2002, she qualified as a case worker and joined the Branch committee in 2004. In 2006 Mary was elected onto the District Welfare Advisory Committee a post she still holds. In 2007 Mary was elected as Branch Welfare Chairman and completed a Branch Management and Secretary course also a Branch Treasurers course. In 2008 Mary attended a Poppy Appeal Organizers Seminar and a Branch Public Relations Seminar. In 2009 she qualified as a Recruiting Advisor.

John (Paddy) Hegarty |
||
John joined the Paderborn Branch of The Royal British Legion on Veterans Day in the year 2008. In his short time as a legion member John has become a qualified Welfare case worker, he has attended a Branch Management course and is a member of the branch committee also the branch Standard Bearer. Recent posts taken on by John include branch membership secretary and the District of Germany Parade Marshall.
